Seasons of Love: Stained Glass Reflections
This series began from inspiration sparked from a conversation with my partner, and the windows and tree at North Decatur UMC/SAND Preschool. Autumn was completed first, inspired by the beautiful orange foliage of the “fire” tree I have always called it mentally, due to how it looks in the fall when the leaves turn bright orange.
I loved working on it so much I moved onto spring next and sought the expertise of one of my best friends and resident garden expert, to depict blooms native to GA. Spring features blue phlox, while summer features echinacea and big round bumble bees.
Winter features my favorite juxtaposition of a red cardinal against white snow, reminiscent of the watercolor prints hanging in my grandmother’s and now my parents’ house. Cardinals hold a special place in my heart as they will always remind me of Grammie.
For every season, we are given moments of joy, and sadness, anxiety and peace, daylights, sunsets, midnights, and cups of coffee… we measure our days in inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife… but what if we measured our seasons in love?
