I have finally begun to take commissions, and am working on my portrait practice, in addition to my typical subjects and styles. Since I work digitally, I do not charge based on a per hour formula, as I generally spend less time on a given piece than artists who work in traditional mediums. Instead, I charge based on the complexity of the request, including such factors as number of ‘characters’ or figures, a base minimum for all commissions is $30, which allows for revisions, and edits, and you will get a finished line drawing in a digital file suitable for printing at this rate. Adding coloring and inking, additional characters, items, or for more complex pieces, increases from this base rate, as does requesting a physical print or item. All pricing negotiations will be transparent and agreed upon ahead of beginning the piece.
